America: land of the free, home of the brave, and—little known to many—home of one of the world's greatest musical traditions. Although Europe can proudly lay claim to the genius of Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Gustav Mahler, the United States has quietly built one of the most eclectic and unique musical cultures since its inception in 1776. From the no-nonsense jazz idioms of George Gershwin to the open and unpretentious vernacular style of Aaron Copland, America now carries one of the most distinctive musical voices in the world. Join us as we celebrate the 250th birthday of our nation and the incredible sacrifice of all of our veterans!
